The national database system on population and citizenship application, issuance and management system is expected to be put into operation this afternoon, Jannuary 25^th.

The event is expected to be held in the form of online conference between the Ministry of Public Security and 63 Provincial and Municipal Police and some local bridge points. The national population database has been rated by experts as an "expensive national resource" and is one of the six core national databases that play an important role in the process of building e-government, heading towards digital government, digital economy and digital society in Vietnam.

Previously, on July 20^th, 2020, the Police Department of Administrative Management of Social Order - Ministry of Public Security and the Joint Venture Contractor VNPT-HADIC-GTEL ICT held a launching ceremony of the project. This is an important national project with not much implementation time; but the VNPT-HADIC-GTEL ICT contractor consortium affirms that all resources will be devoted to completing this historic mission. With a strong, modern and extensive technology background and a team of well-trained and experienced experts, VNPT Group is always a unit entrusted by the Government, Ministries and localities with national key projects that play a fundamental role in leading the digital transformation in Vietnam.
