Electronic medical records are the target of many hospitals across the country, including Nam Dinh. This is also one of the five priority areas for digital transformation in Nam Dinh province in the plan to build and implement a smart healthcare development project to 2025, with a vision to 2030.

It was the first medical facility in the province assigned by the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province to deploy electronic medical records as a foundation for replication to all medical facilities throughout the province. After more than 18 months of active implementation, the electronic medical record project at Nam Dinh Provincial Children's Hospital, coordinated by VNPT to provide software solutions, was assessed by the appraisal council as meeting the criteria. It was officially announced for application on October 24, 2024. The project has brought positive changes in the health sector of Nam Dinh province, being an innovative step in medical record management, effectively serving medical examination and treatment activities.

The highlight of the electronic medical record (VNPT EMR) is that it is built according to the 4.0 technology trend that allows digitization and replacement of all paper medical records, helping to save space, storage and preservation costs for hospitals.
