"Eating the wind, lying in the dew, setting out to challenge the typhoon" is the story of many VNPTers in recent days when the storm No. 3 (typhoon Yagi) and the storm circulation devastated the northern provinces, causing serious consequences in terms of human lives and property. It is not simply a journey to " restore Internet and mobile connections" but also a story of human love and mutual support among compatriots in difficult times.
Despite the danger, VNPTers have quickly appeared in the areas affected by the typhoon to restore information connections, ensuring smooth communication to serve people's lives and rescue work.
Due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi and prolonged heavy rain combined with water from the upstream rushing in, causing floods to rise, numerous places in Lao Cai such as Bao Yen district, Van Ban district, Simacai district... are facing serious landslides. Many communes encountered communication outages due to broken transmission cables, paralyzed traffic, and power outages, making rescue work and maintaining people's communication extremely difficult. VNPT in Lao Cai urgently deployed technical forces and vehicles to the affected areas to restore the communication network in harsh weather conditions and difficult terrains.
With the desire for people to soon return to normal life and minimize damage, almost 100% of VNPT telecommunications personnel in Lao Cai were mobilized to be on duty, divided into groups to coordinate with local areas to implement the tasks, not only assigned by the unit, but also come from the "orders of the heart".
In particular, on September 11, 2024, right after the tragic landslide in Lang Nu (Bao Yen), VNPT also quickly sent technical personnel to join other networks in conducting cccess and install roaming to support satellite waves, ensure timely emergency response, and serve rescue work.
In addition to the urgent work of restoring communications and mobile networks for people, VNPT in provinces also closely cooperated with local authorities to deploy a series of necessary support measures to help people quickly stabilize their lives after the flood passed.
