According to a representative of VNPT in Khanh Hoa province, aware of the practical benefits of applying electronic medical records, from 2021, Khanh Hoa Psychiatric Hospital has pioneered in coordinating with VNPT to digitize all forms in medical records. To date, Khanh Hoa Psychiatric Hospital is the first medical facility in Khanh Hoa to be declared qualified to apply electronic medical records to replace paper medical records.
An electronic medical record is a record that tracks the time of information collected through one or more examinations at a medical unit. Recorded information includes administrative data, follow-up notes, health problems, medications, vital signs, medical history, active immune status (vaccines), laboratory data and diagnostic imaging reports. Electronic medical records automate the work of medical staff; capable of generating a complete report of the clinical encounter, and supporting other related features (directly or indirectly on the work interface), including evidence-based decision support, quality management and performance reporting. Electronic medical records are determined to bring many outstanding benefits to both patients and medical facilities.
An electronic medical record is used to store important patient information including: Personal information (name, address, contact number); Medical history (diagnoses, past diseases); prescription (prescription and history of drug use); test results, medical images and other medical parameters. This is a step forward in medical record management and effectively serves medical examination and treatment.
