During Lunar New Year 2025, data traffic of VNPT/VinaPhone network decreased compared to Lunar New Year 2024, but voice traffic increased by nearly 15%.
Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) said that the telecommunications network from the night of December 29 to the morning of January 1 operated stably.
Average data traffic at broadcast stations serving fireworks festivals, such as Hoan Kiem Lake and West Lake areas (Hanoi); Nguyen Hue flower street (Ho Chi Minh City); Nguyen Van Troi street (Da Nang city)... increased 200-300% compared to normal days.
Because these areas have been supplemented with mobile broadcasting vehicles, service quality is guaranteed, meeting customer needs.
VNPT made contingency plans and was ready to immediately handle incidents in its communication systems.
VNPT also implemented a staffing plan to be ready to handle situations that arise before, during and after Tet.
Previously, to prepare to serve customers for the Lunar New Year 2025, VNPT invested in expanding the international internet network, increasing capacity by 16.6%; expanding the backbone network, increasing capacity by 23%, meeting traffic flow for fixed broadband internet and mobile internet customers.
